Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care Takes Top Honor for Web-based Educational Car Care Video Series

Wins Platinum Award in the Summit International Awards 2016 Marketing Effectiveness Awards Competition

HORSHAM, PA. – Shifting the aftermarket auto care industry into a new gear along the information superhighway, Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care continues to race ahead of the pack in the digital realm. The brand, revered across the nation for the honesty and integrity that defines each and every customer experience, today announced that it has won the Platinum Award in the 2016 Summit Marketing Effectiveness Awards (MEA) competition.

The organizer of the awards, Summit International Awards, is one of the premiere authorities on creative marketing excellence. The Summit MEA competition is based on the premise that the goal of marketing communications is the change, influence, or reinforce a target audience’s knowledge, attitudes or beliefs. Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care joins just 6% out of over 1100 award submissions in earning the esteemed recognition.

“We are honored to receive such a prestigious designation for our Cottman Man Educational Video Series,” said Derik Beck, vice president of digital marketing for Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care. “We understand that not all of our guests have the time to bring their car into our shops for every issue. We decided to educate them whether the problem is small or serious. To be recognized for this additional outreach brings pride to our entire team.”

Featuring the brand’s signature Cottman Man, the videos provide user-friendly tips on topics relating to car care, such how to address annual car service needs, routine maintenance, road trip precautions and many more relevant consumer preventative and proactive car care tips. By using simple explanations in the engaging, animated videos, which are 55 seconds or less, The Cottman Man provides crucial car care tips to viewers. Underscoring the usefulness of the series are colorful visuals and easy-to-follow guidelines that ensure viewers are more confident about their motor vehicles and the care it requires.

Previously, the video series also won honors in the Web Marketing Association’s 2016 “Internet Advertising Competition,” which recognizes excellence in online advertising through online ads, videos, mobile, newsletter, email and social media.

The Summit MEA responds to a common need in the marketing and advertising sector: to acknowledge the contribution of results and messaging, and the achievement of the marketer’s business goals. A truly international competition, the Summit MEA received submissions from the following twelve countries: Australia, Canada, England, Hungary, India, Nigeria, Philippines, Singapore, Republic of Korea, South Africa, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States and Wales.

“Distinguishing between creativity and effectiveness is a difficult task so winning a Summit MEA is a significant achievement,” said Jocelyn Luciano, executive director for the Summit International Awards. “The combination of experienced judges and our tough criteria ensures that only deserving submissions receive Summit MEA recognition.”

Throughout its 22-year history, the Summit International Awards has established itself as one of the premier arbiters of communication excellence. Additional information about the Summit International Awards and its programs is available at www.summitawards.com.
