Tuesday, March 16, 2004
The No. 9 Cottman Transmission Ford makes its debut in Darlington, SC, this weekend in the Diamond Hill Plywood Co. 200. Jeff Burton, Cottman’s NASCAR driver and national spokesperson, will be behind the wheel when the race kicks off at 1:00 PM. TV coverage begins at 12:30 EST on FX. “This is a very exciting time for us,” said Todd P. Leff, president of Cottman Transmission Systems, LLC, headquartered in Fort Washington, PA. “We’ve had a great relationship with Jeff for three years, but this is the first time we have sponsored a car in the Busch Series, and we can’t wait to see it run!” Cottman is also running a “Race-to-Atlanta” Contest as part of its Cottman No. 9 Show Car program. The 18-and-over grand prizewinner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Atlanta for the Aaron 312. Also, starting today, Cottman is offering a variety of Jeff Burton No. 9 Cottman Transmission Ford promotional items for sale on its website cottman.com, including a 1:24 and 1:64 No. 9 Cottman die cast Team Caliber car, a Jeff Burton No. 9 t-shirt and hat, and a Burton Hero Card.
