Cottman Transmission Makes An Additional Donation To MADD

Ft. Washington, PA - Cottman Transmission announced today that it has made an additional donation in the amount of $3,168.00 to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to conclude the “Play It Safe Promotion,” which was featured in Cottman Centers nationwide from March 30, 2003 until July 1, 2003. The donation represented $1.00 for every helmet distributed during the period of the promotion. Cottman Transmission made a donation of $20,000.00 to MADD in March 2003 to kick off the promotion.
During the promotion, Cottman customers received a free bicycle helmet with any major transmission repair. Customers were also able to purchase the Cottman-branded helmet for only $1.99 with a transmission fluid change for their vehicle. Across the country, Cottman Transmission dealers distributed over 3,000 free or low cost bicycle safety helmets during the 90 day promotion period.
“Our dealers nationwide were very supportive of the program which is why we were so successful,” said Todd Leff, president of Cottman Transmission. “Many of our dealers developed their own promotions with local schools and gave away the helmets during coloring contests or for good attendance records.”
Jeff Burton, the popular NASCAR Winston Cup driver of the No. 99 Citgo Ford, who has 17 career Winston Cup victories, helped publicize the promotion along with MADD officials at a press conference held at Texas Motor Speedway in March. Cottman Transmission is an associate sponsor of Burton’s No. 99 Car.
