Cottman Donates More than $10,000 to Support MADD
From May 1 through July 31, 2004, Cottman Transmission, LLC, joined with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to support MADD’s new middle school program called “The Power of Y.O.U,” which helps children recognize their own personal power and build a strong sense of identity. Cottman donated $1 to MADD for every die-cast collectible 1:64 or 1:24 No. 9 Cottman Car given away or sold with a service or repair during the promotion. After 90 days, Cottman centers nationwide had given away 4,894 of the 1:64 cars and 864 of the 1:24 cars, so Cottman is sending a check to MADD for $5,758.00. This amount is in addition to the $5,000 that Todd Leff, president and CEO of Cottman, presented to Cynthia S. Roark, MADD National Chairman of the Board, on May 1 when the promotion launched just prior to the No. 9 Cottman car’s running in the 1-800-PIT-STOP.COM 300 at the California Speedway. Upon learning of the additional $5,758 donation, Ms. Roark said, “We are grateful for the support of Cottman because it enables MADD to reach more youth with healthy and safe messages that will make a positive difference in their lives.”
