Automotive Diagnostic Technician

Job Description

AUTOMOTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TECHNICIAN
 
As an Automotive Diagnostic Technician you will quickly identify the cause of automotive performance problems, in addition to proactively servicing vehicles before issues develop. All COTTMAN Technicians are trained to efficiently perform services utilizing our state of the art equipment, and are encouraged to continually update skills and automotive knowledge using our training programs and resources.
 

Position Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including: engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc. 

  • Explain problems discovered during vehicle inspection, and the needed repairs to service advisors and customers as required

  • Continuously seek out and learn new technical information, equipment, tools and techniques

  • Professionally record findings so that necessary customer estimates and proper repairs can be made.

Position Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the industry as an automotive technician

  • Hold a valid driver’s license

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience problem solving and conducting both mechanical and electrical diagnostics

  • Own appropriate professional grade tools and diagnostic equipment

  • Master ASE certification is preferred or requisite experience

  • Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment such as: scanners, electrical diagnostic equipment, A/C recovery equipment, fluid exchange equipment, lift operation, etc.

Automotive Transmission Rebuilder

Job Description

TRANSMISSION REBUILDER:

Position Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, rebuild and repair to specifications – Knowledge of electrical and computer systems a plus

  • Explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include other teammates and customers as required.

  • Continuously learns new technical information and techniques in formal training session in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.

  • Keeps store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.

  • Maintains an organized service department.

Position Qualifications

  • Own appropriate professional grade tools and diagnostic equipment

  • Hold a valid driver’s license

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience problem solving and conducting both mechanical and electrical diagnostics

  • ASE certifications a plus

  • Bilingual candidates a plus.

Job Description

CUSTOMER SALES MANAGER:

Our Customer Sales Managers are high energy professionals who not only lead by example, but are also team players who support the employees that work for them. A Customer Sales Manager takes on many different roles as they manage the day-to-day operations of one of our centers, including: generating sales, communicating with customers, building client relationships, managing the technical team, and ensuring that all employees are adhering to COTTMAN policies and procedures.
 

Position Responsibilities

  • Meeting and greeting customers

  • Managing technician workflow

  • Recommending services to customers

  • Ordering parts and inventory

  • Keeping customers updated on the status of their vehicles' repairs

  • Managing and tracking lead counts as well as customer satisfaction ratings

  • Generating and closing sales

  • Deliver a high level of customer service and quality control over all aspect of the center's business operations, and work product

Position Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of automotive service sales experience OR equivalent sales experience with a track record of success

  • Excellent one time closing skills

  • Strong commitment to customer service and relationship building

  • Ability to communicate and use interpersonal skills at a sustained high level

  • Capable of multi-tasking and executing in a fast paced environment

  • Honest, goal-oriented and energetic team player

Job Description

AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN -TRANSMISSION INSTALLER

As a Automotive Technician - Transmission Installer  you will quickly identify the cause of automotive performance problems and proactively service vehicles before issues develop.  You will be responsible for the removal and re-installation of transmission systems, and for general automotive repair.  

Position Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems

  • Remove and Re-install transmission systems

  • Explain problems discovered during vehicle inspection, and the needed repairs to service advisors and customers as required

  • Continuously seek out and learn new technical information, equipment, tools and techniques

  • Professionally record findings so that necessary customer cost estimates and proper repairs can be made.

  • Hold a valid driver's license

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience problem solving and conducting both mechanical and electrical diagnostics

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience removing and re-installing transmissions

  • Own appropriate professional grade tools and diagnostic equipment
